bougainvillea

Around late April / early May each year, the bougainvillea flowers begin to bloom, driving all of the LA-residents into a tizzy.  Our city seems to be obsessed with these flowers.  They encroach on each wall and smatter sidewalks with a dusting of their vibrant petals.

I have to admit, their burst of color is quite attractive.  Clearly, I'm guilty of being one of those LA-residents in a tizzy over their beauty.
